Our softback books are made in three ways – medieval wrap style, softback non-wrap and refillable medieval wrap.
All are available with or without full size pockets in the front flap – useful for keeping safe all those scraps, sketches, lists and ideas.
Do let us know if you’d like embossing or a different number of pages, and we will revise the price for you.

Medieval wrap books are made from hand-dyed, vegetable-tanned cow hide. The leather is supple, very tactile and at the same time very tough.
The style of binding used to be used for carrying and storing manuscripts since the Middle Ages and is incredibly durable since the pages are sewn to the cover itself. Each comes with 96 pages as standard, and endpapers in a colour that complements the leather colour.

| SB02 - Non-wrap |

These books use the same lovely vegetable-tanned and hand-dyed leather as the medieval wrap. They have the same spine binding as the wrap books, but no wrap-over flap. They secure closed by two slim thongs on the fore-edge of the book. Each comes with 96 pages as standard, and endpapers in a colour that complements the leather colour.

For the prolific writer, here's an economical idea - 'unstitched' medieval wraps that you can refill when you're done!
Refillable wraps are made from the same beautiful, hand-dyed leather as we use for all our wrap books. Inside are 96 pages of heavy, high quality paper in loose-leaf sections. These pages are held in by leather thongs. You can add, remove or rearrange the pages just as you like.
The book opens out flat for easier writing. The wrap ties with a thong as usual to keep it all secure. Once you have filled one book, simply get some of the replacement pages, slide them into your old cover and keep writing...

| SB04 - Refillable non-wrap |

Refillable non-wraps are the same as the wraps, but with no wrapover flap. As standard, inside are 96 pages of heavy, high quality paper in loose-leaf sections held in by leather thongs. You can add, remove or rearrange the pages just as you like.
The book opens out flat for easier writing. The book closes with leather ties on the fore-edge of the book. Once you have filled one book, simply get some of the replacement pages, slide them into your old cover and keep writing...
